Funny, I was thinking about being thrifty when I went to the local organic market near me with my 3 kids and hubby – The TTC barns hosts this every Saturday from 9am to Noon.
I bought raw 2 chocolate bars with hemp seeds and a block of raw chocolate with chili – cost $11.00…..I then bought 3 cups of fresh organic coffee, $4.50…………………a loaf of monkey bread $3.00…..a gluten free brownie $2.00…and a fish sandwich with plantains, chili sauce and avacodo $6.00……..what am I nuts?? I could do this every week…….$26.00…..thats $104.00 a month, (my gym membership)…..annually thats a 1/4 of my daughters camp fees!
But, we had so much fun, Muhtadi came with his group of drummers and we danced with our kids…………..If you’re 30-50, and grew up in DT Toronto – you likely know him from his Ossinton club/after hours club or his preformances in afro-fest….it was a serious moment of community bliss……it upped my happy factor for the whole weekend 🙂 All because I wanted some chocolate

I dont know, maybe all this stuff makes us more inventive and gets us looking at new ways of having fun…………They clearly aren’t cheap, but maybe over the long term, they keep us from longing for trips, and more costly avenues of pleasure seeking like aimless side walk shopping and surfing the net for “things” we really dont need………….
