My 11 year old graduated from grade 6 today.(we didnt have that in the 70’s)
Talk about putting things in perspective-
Teachers quoted Margaret Mead, “A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
Kids echoed her sentiment with stories about reaching out to one another and, validictorians shared reflections on the year’s theme, “daring to be the change”.
Her grade raised $5,000.00 for a water purification system outside a village school in Ethiopia………..
There were awards for good citizenship, amongst the usual culprits- arts, math, french, writing and sportsmanship, which my daughter won.
